Live the Dream

Randy Pausch died today of complications from pancreatic cancer. I am reposting his "Last Lecture" in celebration of his life and the unintended legacy he left behind: Live and love each day, as if it is your last. Enjoy.

****
Randy Pausch is a 46 year old professor at Carnegie Mellon, who is dying of pancreatic cancer. He delivered his Last Lecture to an audience of over 40 students, and it has been widely downloaded on the internet. Randy appeared on Oprah and delivered a shortened version of this lecture. His message is exetremely powerful and uplifting, emphasizing the way we should all live!

It is unbelievable isn't it? The full horror of how we squander our days becomes self evident.

What I despise about Life the most is that gentle productive people like this can perish while so many useless, vile, assholes keep taking and taking and taking.

This is on my top ten list of why there is pitiful evidence of a personal, sentient, caring, Creator.

Amen. It was kind of odd timing that I ran across this because a guy I work with, about the same age as Randy Pausch, was just diagnosed a few weeks ago with pancreatic cancer that had metastasized in the liver.

i can't tell you how many times i have seen this, and everytime, it still sends shivers up my spine...
